Rally on Glenwood and Columbia Dr. is April 29, 2008
Glenwood Pedestrian Safety Initiative (GPSI) was formed in 2002 in cooperation with DeKalb Board of Health. The Board's Safe Communities program had identified Glenwood as one of the most dangerous areas of DeKalb County for pedestrians. GPSI is led by steering committee of residents from neighbor surrounding Glenwood.
GPSI envisions a healthy, beautiful community where fatalities and injuries are greatly reduced, where everyone, regardless of car owership, age or disability has fair access to community amenities, and where people can get out and walk for health and get to know their neighbors face to face.
GPSI is a member of PEDS (Pedestrian Educating Drivers on Safety) a metro Atlanta pedestrian advocacy groups. PEDS has assisted GSPI's work with campaign strategy and technical expertise.
